In this election there is a clear difference between the political parties, more so than there has been in many years. Scotland has seen a massive transfer of powers from London to Edinburgh and voters have real choice of how each party will use those powers to shape Scotland’s future.
The Tories think you can cut public services, drive down wages and starve people into dead end jobs, whilst the SNP operate the Scottish Parliament as a conveyer belt for those Tory austerity cuts. They do this to create grudge and grievance against Westminster but completely fail to stand up for Scotland by using the powers of our Parliament.
Labour in Scotland is clear, we will use the powers and we will invest in Scotland’s greatest asset, its people. By investing in housing, in health, in education, skills, training and jobs we will move Scotland in the direction of greater fairness, opportunity and a more equal share in prosperity for all of Scotland’s people.
We must move forward from the politics of grudge, grievance and division to build the kind of Scotland we want for our children and grandchildren.
