Alex with Thubten Wangchen of the central Tibetan administration.

Last week I met with Thubten Wangchen of the central Tibetan administration in the Scottish Parliament and signed their call for  the European Union to do more to put pressure on China to protect human rights in Tibet.

Mr Wangchen who was joined in parliament by Mr David Lloyed Hudson of the Scottish Parliaments cross party group on Tibet spoke to me about the work of the Cross party group and their continued awareness raising of the issues facing the people in Tibet and China and what the people of Scotland can do to support and assistance

During this parliamentary term alone the CPG has met with his holiness the Dalai Lama; held twelve meetings with representatives from the Tibetan government – in – exile, brought together supporters and the Tibetan community of Scotland and published detailed briefings and held talks about the Tibetan peoples struggle for freedom and greater human rights.

More information about Tibet, the CPG and how you can support the struggle for Tibetan freedom can be found at: https://scotlandtibet.wordpress.com/reports/
