We will remember them

MrachKelty remember

Throughout the Cowdenbeath constituency people have gathered this weekend at Services of Remembrances’ and at War Memorials.

“With every passing year there are fewer and fewer people who can claim direct contact with the two world wars of the 20th century. Yet millions are touched by the devastation they caused. Remembrance Sunday remains the principle day for recalling the sacrifice made by men and women of our nation who gave their lives that we might live in freedom. We also call to mind the many thousands of people who die every year in conflicts around the world in our own day as we pray for them and their families”. (Benarty Service 2015)

I laid wreathes this year at the Memorials in Kelty, Inverkeithing, Cowdenbeath and Lochore and would thank those who organised these and the other services across the constituency.

The Tryst

They shall grow not old, as we are left to grow old.

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning.

We will remember them.

“We will remember them all”
