This years gala and coal race was amongst the best in many years with thousands of people lining the streets of Kelty for the races and gala parade. The park was also buzzing with activity including the 7s football tournament which is proving to be a great addition to events in the park itself.
The gala committee is made up of a few individuals and they are always looking for more people to get involved. The next meeting will be advertised widely in the village and it would be great if more people could become involved.
The gala is also a real showcase for the village of Kelty with hundreds of visitors and former residents visiting on the day. All the shops and local pubs and clubs also have a great day of business and add to the great sense of carnival and fun on the day.
