Area that floods to be addressed

There are still concerns that the actions taken to date will not tackle the flooding problems there has been in Kingseat over the last few years and local councillor Alex Rowley has held a site meeting with staff from Transport and Environment, Housing and Grounds Maintenance, along with local residents to discuss the concerns that exist within the village.

As a result Transportation have now flushed out the run-off and are considering options re maintenance arrangements and will be bringing back proposals. Housing are looking at options for the installation of a ‘herring-bone’ drain in the gardens which were flooded the last time.  Should this work not be effective then there will be provision to install a sump-pump.

It is also proposed to fit a (two metre high) barrier to stop children accessing the channel.
