We need Fife Council to negotiate a Section 75 Agreement that will see a new health centre being built as part of the phased development of 900 new homes in Kelty. That means a funding package being agreed between Fife Council, NHS Fife and the developer to be put in place and phased in at some point of the development.

With a proposed housing development of 900 homes to be built in Kelty, with the potential to equate to 2700 people, it is essential that a new medical centre is provided to ensure adequate levels of care for the community.

Kelty Medical Practice have stated after meeting with the developer that “the medical practice and health centre staff would not be able to cope with the additional patients that such a build would bring. Without premises fit for purpose and adequate staffing we would likely have to close our patient list, which would result in new residents being unable to register with the local medical practice.”
